Seeking a dedicated and skilled General Surgery physician assistant to join the team at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California. As a Surgical First Assistant, you will provide support to general surgeons by assisting in the operating room and providing inpatient care with occasional clinic support. This position offers a balanced schedule, allowing you to spend time in the OR, rounding inpatient and in clinic working with a variety of general surgery cases.

  • Full-time position; 4, 10-hour shifts
  • Wednesday to Saturday schedule; 1 day in clinic and daily surgical support/rounding.
  • Surgical days vary due to acute care and rounding role
  • General surgery plus specialty surgery: foregut, colorectal, hepatobiliary, and endocrine programs, along with a very robust surgery program
  • Hours: exempt position, 40-hour work week, 4/10 schedule.
  • Working with all surgeons of practice
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a surgical specialty as a first assist is preferred
  • Open to new graduates
  • Compensation between $177,755 and $231,717 per year

The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and may include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, hospital/ED call stipends, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
