Join an established cardiovascular surgery team seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a long-term locum tenens opportunity. This role offers a blend of operative, inpatient, and perioperative responsibilitiessupporting both cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients.
This position is ideal for a seasoned CT Surgery PA with strong Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and surgical closure experience who enjoys working in a collaborative surgical environment.

Clinical Responsibilities
Operating Room
- Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
- Surgical closure
- Cardiovascular surgery support
- Vascular surgery support
- Perioperative patient management
Inpatient Care
- Daily rounding
- Postoperative patient management
- Admissions and consultations
- Care coordination with surgical teams
- Weekend rounding during scheduled call coverage
Required Qualifications
- NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant
- Active PA license or ability to obtain licensure
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- DEA Registration
- Minimum 5 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
- Recent Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience
- Surgical closure proficiency
- Ability to participate in rotational night and weekend coverage
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive CT Surgery experience
- Experience supporting vascular surgery services
- Strong independent clinical decision-making skills
- Prior locum tenens experience
Ideal Candidate
The ideal provider is a highly experienced CT Surgery PA who is actively performing EVH and surgical closure, comfortable managing complex surgical patients, and seeking a stable full-time assignment within a collaborative cardiovascular surgery practice.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current Physician Assistant license
- NCCPA Certification
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- DEA Registration
- Minimum 5 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
- Demonstrated Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) proficiency
- Demonstrated surgical closure proficiency
- Ability to meet all client credentialing and onboarding requirements
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
