Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate  Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Hospitalist Department. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


As an integral part of our hospitalist team, you will assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and complex conditions, providing exceptional care during overnight hours.


Key Responsibilities


Patient Care


•    Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.


•    Develop, implement, and manage evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.


•    Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.


•    Work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.


•    Participate in care conferences, handoffs, and interdisciplinary rounds as needed.


•    Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive health measures.


Clinical Leadership


•    Mentor and guide junior clinical staff and students when appropriate.


•    Assist in developing and implementing clinical protocols and hospital practice standards.


•    Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).


•    Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.


•    Stay current on advances in acute care medicine through ongoing education and training.


•    Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications


Education


•  Masters degree from an accredited institution.


Licensure & Certification


•    Current, unrestricted license to practice as an  Physician Assistant in the State of Oklahoma.


Experience


•    Preferred: 1 year of clinical experience as an PA in a hospital or acute care environment.


Skills


•    Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic abilities.


•    Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.


•    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.


•    Proficiency in EMR systems and other healthcare technologies.
