Opportunity:
Physician - Anesthesiology
Job Details:
- Monday through Friday Operating Room hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with on-call/pager hours from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Anesthesiologist does not need to remain in-house during on-call hours but must be able to arrive within 20 minutes
- May provide CRNA supervision as deemed appropriate and will be assigned to an OR room during daytime hours
- Respond to Labor and Delivery needs including C-section and epidural care
- Provide anesthesia care for Interventional Radiology patients
- Perform ICU cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
- Administer sedation for radiology, CT scans, and general sedation cases
- Perform intubation, central line placement, and arterial line placement
- Conduct floor and emergency department IV starts using ultrasound guidance
- Provide ER trauma coverage
- Perform diagnostics and lumbar punctures
- Complete regional blocks in the holding area and PACU
- Participate in Pre-Op clinic, with approximately 5-10% of patients meeting complex criteria due to medical history
- Respond to Emergency Medical Responses as part of the Response Team Activation
- Average of 15 patient encounters per shift
- Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- Board certification required; minimum certification level is Certified
- Required anesthesia skills include general anesthesia (adult and pediatric), spinal anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, regional anesthesia, obstetrical cases, ventilation management, and evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
- Preferred skills include trauma anesthesia, complex orthopedic cases, pain management techniques, post-op epidural, post-op extremity blocks, and use of X-ray guidance in performance of blocks
- Fellowship required
