    Job Summary

    Responsible for both the preparatory and post treatment aspects of care. Assures adequate inventory of supplies and maintains the clinic in a clean, safe, and orderly state. Answers phones, schedules patients, checks in patients, and provides other related support services as needed.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Set up therapy equipment and tools before sessions.
    • Answer phone, schedules appointments, and checks in patients.
    • Escort or transport patients to and from treatment area.
    • Help patients get into position or move safely from exercises.
    • Promote infection control; clean and sanitize treatment areas and gear after use.
    • Gather laundry, order and restock supplies, and organize inventory.
    • Check devices to ensure they are safe and working correctly.
    • Streamline patient intake, insurance authorization workflows, and discharge planning to minimize efficiency.
    • Assist patients with non-clinical elements of care under staff direction.
    • Assist therapists with duties that require extra hands, like casting splints.
    • Deliver ultrasound treatment to non-Medicare patients.
    • Apply electrodes to patients as directed by therapists but not setting stimulation perimeters or turning stimulator on.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, and to work both day/evening shifts. Work may hand dexterity as well as the need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.     Work Environment

    Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent personal and telephone contact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Work may involve interaction with injured or sick patients.

    Travel between all Lakeshore Bone & Joint facilities is required for this position.

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent.
