Beacon Breaks Ground on New Memorial Hospital Patient Tower

In October 2022, Beacon Health System leaders broke ground on the new 10-story patient care tower on the campus of Memorial Hospital of South Bend. This transformational, once-in-a-generation project is designed to enrich the patient, family and visitor experience while meeting the growing healthcare needs of residents in our area for decades to come.

Beacon Health System is expanding our Rehabilitation team in Kalamazoo, and we're looking for a compassionate, motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Inpatient Therapy Department. If you''re passionate about helping patients regain mobility, independence, and confidence, this is the place where your work truly matters.

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality inpatient physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist

• Support patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, surgical, and medical conditions

• Assist with mobility training, strengthening exercises, balance work, and functional mobility

• Document progress accurately and communicate effectively with the care team

• Contribute to a safe, positive, healing environment for patients and families

What We're Looking For

• Current Michigan Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license

• Strong interpersonal and patient-centered communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment

• A passion for teamwork and continuous learning

Schedule

Day shift with some flexibility based on patient census and departmental needs.
