    Description

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Collect, assess, and record patient information
    • Implement and execute established treatment plans and help guide therapeutic exercise
    • Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
    • Advise patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options
    • Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote physical health
    • Set up therapy equipment
    • Sanitize therapy area
    • Lift or move patients, as necessary
    • Monitor and guide patients through exercises
    • Document patient care history in a timely and accurate manner
    • Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

     

    The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public
    • Detail-oriented with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
    • Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements
    • Computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
    • Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations, as well as exerting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds constantly

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited educational institution, required
    • Current Kansas Physical Therapy Assistant License, required
    • Current BLS Certification, required
    • 1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
