We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join a team at a skilled nursing facility in Mapplewood, Minnesota. As a full-time employee, you will have the opportunity to provide quality care to our patients and make a positive impact on their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the physical therapist in evaluating and treating patients with a variety of conditions, including injuries, disabilities, and illnesses
- Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve their strength, mobility, and range of motion
- Monitor and document patients' progress and report any changes to the physical therapist
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercise and activities to continue their progress at home
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area and ensure all equipment is in good working condition
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution
- Current state license or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Minnesota
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility or other healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and documentation procedures
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and perform physical tasks as needed
