Job Summary:
Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care in an acute care/inpatient rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will have strong Acute Care or Inpatient Rehab experience and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Physical Therapist will provide patient-centered care across various age groups and work toward achieving appropriate clinical and functional goals.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct physical therapy care to patients in accordance with established standards of practice.
• Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans based on individual needs and goals.
• Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions to support patient mobility, function, and recovery.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations as applicable.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment approaches based on clinical findings and patient response.
• Apply strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to address patient needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Follow hospital policies, patient safety standards, and applicable physical therapy practices
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted Michigan Physical Therapist License.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification.
• Acute Care or Inpatient Rehabilitation experience – Must Have.
• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy with 5 years of experience, OR Master's/Doctorate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge and ability to provide care across appropriate age-specific patient populations.
• Willingness to work 2 weekend days per month.
