A health services network on Long Island is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to join their school-based program in Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 3:30pm
- Setting: School-based
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized physical therapy services to students
- Conduct assessments, screenings, and clinical observations using appropriate evaluation methods
- Deliver therapy in alignment with IEPs, IFSPs, and other required documentation
- Manage a daily caseload of individual treatment sessions and complete make-up sessions as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, classroom staff, families, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining timely and accurate documentation
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university
- Active NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license and current registration
- Experience with pediatric populations and/or children with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to work comfortably with nonverbal or minimally verbal students and students who may display significant behavioral challenges
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting children with autism
- Experience in a school-based or similar interdisciplinary clinical setting
- Strong flexibility, patience, and adaptability in treatment planning
- Comfort with prosthetic, orthotic, and adaptive equipment
- Openness to mentorship and learning in a specialized environment
