Physical Therapist - Non-Exempt Position Summary
Evaluates and treats patients per medically prescribed physical therapy plans. Designs and implements individualized programs to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability; provides patient/family education on injury prevention, ergonomics, and rehabilitation. Supervises physical therapist assistants, students, and aides in delivering care. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present. Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, kneeling, reaching, repetitive hand/arm movements, and keyboard entry; occasional sitting, squatting, running; rare climbing. Potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards (blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, gases/vapors/fumes, dust); latex exposure may occur.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree required (Physical Therapy). License: Current Physical Therapy license in state of practice. Certifications: BCLS required. Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Proficiency in multiple clinical software systems and rapid learning ability. Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand). Ability to successfully complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
