The Arc Columbia-Saratoga, formerly Coarc (Columbia County Arc), is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Consultant to provide consultation services within our Preschool Program. In this consultant role, you will support young children in developing gross motor skills that promote independence, participation, and success in educational and daily activities while collaborating with families and an interdisciplinary team.

Position Details

Program: Preschool Program

Location: Hudson, NY

Position Type: 1099 Consultant

Schedule: Part-Time, Flexible Hours

Pay Rate: $70.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical therapy screenings, evaluations, and therapy sessions for preschool-aged children.
  • Develop individualized goals and treatment recommendations that support each child's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, administrators, and families to promote children's developmental success.
  • Provide consultation and strategies to support gross motor development within the classroom environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with New York State regulations, school district requirements, and professional standards.
  • Maintain therapy equipment and ensure services are delivered in accordance with professional and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Physical Therapist license required
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children in special education (preschool experience preferred)
  • Professional liability/business insurance required
  • Familiarity with IEP documentation and Medicaid billing standards preferred
  • Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
