Physical Therapist (PT) - Article 16 Clinic

A health services network in New York City is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to join their staff at one of their outpatient Article 16 clinics in the Bronx.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, with weekends possible as needed

• Hours: 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm

• Setting: Clinic

Responsibilities:

• Review referrals and medical records to determine appropriate physical therapy treatment
• Evaluate functional needs related to sensorimotor, gross and fine motor skills, musculoskeletal status, ambulation, and adaptive equipment
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises and physical agent modalities
• Participate in care plan meetings and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and therapists on limited permits, and provide oversight across care settings as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Physical Therapy experience
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a bachelor's degree or higher
• Active NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
• Knowledge of Physical Therapy evaluation, treatment, modalities, mobility devices, and therapeutic exercise
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience in an Article 16 or OPWDD-related setting
• Familiarity with supervising assistants, aides, or therapists on limited permits
• Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
