Atlantic Health is searching for a well-qualified Physical Therapist II for their inpatient rehab department at Overlook Medical Center. This department is highly collaborative, working with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to achieve the greatest outcomes for patients in the acute care setting. The Physical Therapist II provides advanced physical therapy services to patients in an acute care hospital setting, and is involved with evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients recovering from surgery, injury, or acute illness. The PT II also collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and supports clinical education and mentorship initiatives.
Patient Evaluation & Treatment:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute medical conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to improve mobility, strength, and function.
Clinical Decision-Making:
Analyze diagnostic and therapeutic test results to adjust treatment plans.
Identify expected patient outcomes and monitor progress toward goals.
Recognize red flags and contraindications to therapy in medically complex patients.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and case managers.
Participate in discharge planning and care transitions to ensure continuity of care.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Education & Mentorship:
Supervise and mentor entry-level physical therapists, students, and residents.
Contribute to staff development and training initiatives.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in unit-based care team models and quality improvement projects.
Assist in developing innovative programs to enhance patient care and outcomes
OTHER: Advanced clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and time management abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
Experience in ICU, cardiac, orthopedic, or neurologic rehabilitation.
Familiarity with hospital-based electronic medical records (EMR)/EPIC.

Doctorate in PT from an accredited college or University, or a Master''s in PT if prior to 2016
Current NJ state licensure as a Physical Therapist
BLS Certification
