Teach it differently. Stay true to your specialty. Pima Medical Institute is seeking a passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Instructor to join our Tucson campus team!

In this full-time role, you will bring your clinical expertise directly into the classroom and lab-mentoring students, elevating our CAPTE-accredited Associate Degree program, and converting real-world clinical insight into engaging lectures and hands-on practice. Move beyond direct patient care while making a lasting impact on the next generation of PTA professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Mentorship:

  • Classroom & Lab Facilitation: Teach CAPTE-accredited curriculum through active learning strategies, lectures, and hands-on clinical lab simulations.

  • Clinical Insight: Infuse real-world clinical examples and contemporary PT practices into daily lessons to cultivate critical thinking and compassionate care.

  • Student Growth: Monitor student academic progress, identify learning gaps early, and deliver targeted tutoring and mentorship.

Program Quality & Administration:

  • Curriculum Alignment: Maintain course standards, assist with continuous curriculum evaluations, and support program accreditation objectives.

  • Academic Integrity: Maintain timely, accurate records of student attendance, performance assessments, and grade records in compliance with institutional policies.

  • Professional Standards: Instill safety, professional ethics, and proper body mechanics in accordance with board regulations and health standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree or higher from a CAPTE-accredited PTA or PT program.

  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license, registration, or certification in the State of Arizona (or valid U.S. jurisdiction per practice act).

  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience as a PT or PTA.

  • Subject Expertise: Documented contemporary expertise in your instructional specialty and knowledge of effective teaching/learning methods.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in 1972 when Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, brought to life their dream of providing quality medical career education. They opened the first campus in Tucson, Arizona, preparing students to become nursing assistants. Eventually Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke took the helm, introducing more programs and opening additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality healthcare professionals.
