Help Patients Regain Independence - Where It Matters Most
Physical therapy in the home is different.
You're not working through a list of patients in a clinic. You're helping people regain strength, mobility, and confidence in the place they live every day.
At Riverside Home Health & Hospice, our PTAs play a critical role in helping patients recover, avoid hospitalizations, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
If you're a PTA who values independence, patient connection, and meaningful outcomes - this is where your work makes a real difference.
Why This Role Matters
As a PTA in home health, your work directly impacts patient recovery and safety.
You will:
• Help patients regain strength, balance, and mobility
• Support recovery after illness, surgery, or hospitalization
• Reduce fall risk and prevent re-hospitalizations
• Carry out therapy plans developed by the Physical Therapist
• Help patients remain safely in their homes
Your work helps patients move from
"I can't"
to
"I can again."
Who Thrives in This Role
Our ideal PTA:
• Enjoys one-on-one patient care
• Is encouraging, patient, and motivating
• Communicates clearly with patients, families, and therapists
• Works independently while staying connected to the care team
• Is organized and follows through
• Believes therapy should improve real-life function - not just complete exercises
Home health experience is helpful, but many PTAs find this becomes their preferred way to practice.
Why PTAs Choose Home Health at Riverside
• One patient at a time
• Flexible daily scheduling and routing
• Variety in patient diagnoses and environments
• Strong collaboration with PTs, nurses, and care teams
• The ability to see real-life functional progress
Instead of treating in a controlled environment, you help patients succeed in real life.
