    Job description: Physical Therapist Assistant
    Location: Newport News, Virginia
    Job Type: Full-time
    Salary: Depends upon experience
    Work Setting: Clinic / Private Practice
    Shift: Day
    Schedule: Monday to Friday

    Job Requirements
    • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
    • Current Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or eligibility to obtain Virginia State Licensure
    • Strong organization and time management skill required
    Job Responsibilities
    • Assist in carrying out the Physical Therapy plan of care for orthopaedic patient populations under the direction of a Physical Therapist
    • Administers physical therapy treatments, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, to include manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education techniques, therapeutic exercise, modalities, traction, etc.
    • Medical documentation to include patient daily treatment notes, exercise flow sheets, and all other necessary paperwork
    • Participation in Community Outreach (YouTube Videos, Articles, Events)
    • Communication with outside sources (referral sources, physicians, third party payers, etc.) to provide comprehensive patient care
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
    • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
