Rambling Oaks is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our full-time rehabilitation team.

Our in-house subacute rehabilitation program provides an opportunity to work closely with patients who are recovering from illness, injury, surgery, hospitalization, or other medical conditions. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide quality, patient-centered therapy designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional mobility, transfers, gait training, balance activities, and strengthening programs.
• Help patients improve mobility, endurance, coordination, strength, and overall functional independence.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and healthcare team.
• Provide patient and caregiver education regarding exercises, mobility, safety, and appropriate use of assistive devices.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary communication and care planning.
• Promote patient safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
• Follow all applicable professional standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the State of Texas or eligibility for Texas licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, families, therapists, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in subacute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care is preferred but not required.
