    Position Summary

    Summerford Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide quality rehabilitation services designed to help residents improve mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions according to established treatment plans.
    • Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, mobility training, and other rehabilitation activities.
    • Monitor residents' progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist and appropriate members of the healthcare team.
    • Document treatments and resident progress accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents.
    • Educate and encourage residents regarding exercises, mobility, and participation in their rehabilitation program.
    • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
    • Follow all applicable facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care to every resident.

    Qualifications

    • Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Alabama.
    • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
    • Current CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification as required.
    • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
