August Healthcare at Iliff is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide therapeutic services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role supports residents in achieving functional goals while ensuring care is delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory and reimbursement standards.
This position is ideal for a licensed Therapy Assistant who values teamwork, documentation accuracy, and quality resident outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient treatments as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Carry out treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans
- Document treatments, resident progress, and daily charges accurately and timely
- Maintain productivity standards established by the department
- Communicate resident progress, concerns, and changes to the supervising therapist
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and utilization reviews
- Instruct residents, families, and nursing staff on restorative or home programs as directed
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of therapy areas and equipment
- Report equipment issues to the appropriate personnel
- Participate in facility performance improvement initiatives
- Travel or float between facilities as assigned based on resident needs
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, reimbursement, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Current state licensure or registration as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Knowledge of Medicare and reimbursement regulations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Dependable, organized, and patient-focused
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to clinical environments and patient care settings
- Ability to manage the physical and emotional demands of patient care
