    Join UPMC's Outpatient Therapy Team!

    Take advantage of this flexible opportunity to support multiple outpatient locations across UPMC, including UPMC Muncy. This is a Monday-Friday, casual/as-needed position.

    In this role, you will provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, while supporting patient care, departmental operations, and a positive clinical environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver physical therapy treatments according to established plans of care
    • Monitor patient response and communicate needed adjustments to the supervising Physical Therapist
    • Assist Physical Therapists with patient assessments across all age groups (pediatric-geriatric
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided
    • Ensure documentation meets organizational, regulatory, and co-signature requirements
    • Support safe patient transport as needed
    • Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment
    • Assist with clerical duties and direct therapy volunteers
    • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and department initiatives
    • Rotate across treatment areas or locations as needed to support operations
    • Meet or exceed productivity and documentation standards
    • Provide and seek feedback to support continuous improvement and team performance

    Clinical Expectations

    • Deliver skilled, evidence-based therapeutic interventions within PTA scope of practice

    • Adapt treatments based on patient response and medical status changes

    • Recognize when care plan adjustments are needed and notify the Physical Therapist promptly

    • Provide care that reflects current clinical best practices and supports optimal patient outcomes.

    • Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate degree

    • Strong commitment to providing high-quality customer service

    • Knowledge of normal human growth and development across the lifespan

    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret medical records and clinical documentation

    Additional Requirement:

    • May work in areas where medications are stored; no direct handling of medications is required

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

    • Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA license (or eligibility with indirect supervision as applicable
    • CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS certification (AHA-compliant, including hands-on skills component within 30 days of hire
    • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal
    • Act 34 Criminal Background Check (with renewal
    • Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal
