Position Summary
Longhorn Village is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and skilled Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, coordination, and functional independence while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care and under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, coordination, endurance, and functional abilities.
- Perform therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, transfer training, and other interventions within the PTA's scope of practice.
- Monitor patients' responses to treatment and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers regarding exercises, mobility, safety, positioning, and functional activities as appropriate.
- Assist patients in achieving individualized functional and rehabilitation goals.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment and utilize appropriate body mechanics and safety techniques.
- Accurately document treatments, patient responses, progress, and other required information in a timely manner.
- Participate in interdisciplinary communication and collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow established facility policies, procedures, infection-control practices, and applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
- Support a positive, respectful, and patient-centered rehabilitation environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification, as required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Physical Therapist and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and professional approach to patient care.
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, senior living, rehabilitation, outpatient, or other healthcare settings is preferred.
