Department Details -----------------

• Outpatient PTA - 2 days a week at Sanford Ipswich
• 2-3 days a week at Sanford Aberdeen
• Supportive and knowledgeable physical therapy staff
• No weekends

Job Summary ------------

While working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists patients and residents with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan to improve their quality of life and ability to perform daily activities. Responsibilities ----------------

• Provides, monitors, and records therapy services to patients/residents with physical, cognitive, or developmental impairments
• Selects, implements, and modifies therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with demonstrated competency levels and goals
• Exchanges information with and provides documentation to the physical therapist about responses to and communications during intervention
• Follows and adheres to accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organization

Qualifications -------------

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
• Must also be a graduate through an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the states of practice
• Conforms to the supervision and licensing standards of the states where services are provided
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
• When applicable, may require a valid drivers license
