Physical Therapist (PT) – Contract

Compensation & Contract Details

  • Weekly Gross: $2,826 / week
  • Location: Fairbanks, Alaska
  • Contract Duration: 26 Weeks
  • Setting: Outpatient Clinic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and independent Physical Therapist to join our team in Fairbanks, Alaska. In this role, you will evaluate patients, develop goal-directed treatment plans, deliver exceptional care, and provide strategic discharge planning. You will also supervise support staff and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Independently evaluate patient dysfunctions, develop effective plans of care, and utilize safe, evidence-based treatments to meet measurable functional goals.
  • Documentation: Complete all billing-related documentation prior to the end of the patient visit and all other clinical documentation by the end of each workday.
  • Supervision: Direct, delegate, and train therapy assistants and aides in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Communicate progress and patient status effectively with physicians, families, and the healthcare team.

Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs independently (up to 200 lbs with assistance for patient transfers/guarding).
  • Exertional Endurance: Ability to maintain high energy and efficiency through 8 to 12-hour shifts.
  • Clinical Flow: Complete routine patient reassessments and progress reports every 6–8 visits.

License & Qualifications

  • Degree: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for an active Alaska State Physical Therapy License and have passed the national board exam.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of current rehabilitation procedures. Ability or willingness to learn IAOM-US treatment principles rapidly.
