Reports to: Physical Security Manager Pay Grade: Technology 2

Dept. /School: Security and A/V Services/Technology Calendar Days: 226 Bamberg Prof Dev't and Resource Center Revised: 10.17.2024 Troubleshoot security alarm system, door readers, cameras, and motion detecting devices in the entire district. Work with physical security team to help manage each of these systems. Install cabling necessary for the cameras, security alarm system and other Genetec equipment to communicate on the network. Education/Certification/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Trade License as required by state local authorities

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Proficient in basic computer skills, including hardware support and software installation
• Fundamental knowledge of computer networking principles
• Excellent communication, client service, and documentation abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently
• Strong understanding of IT support and maintenance workflows
• Clear understanding of data and physical security concepts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Google Apps
• Knowledgeable in cabling standards and practices
• Familiar with security alarm systems
• Basic understanding of networking essentials, including TCP/IP
• Experience adhering to cabling standards
• Skilled in using various tools for equipment installation

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years' experience with installation of security alarm systems Professional Growth and Development:
  1. Troubleshoot network power for IP-based door readers, cameras, badge printers, security alarms, and motion-detecting devices throughout the district
  2. Collaborate with the Genetec system administrator to manage door access schedules for all district buildings
  3. Work with the Genetec system administrator to manage user badge access for all doors in the district
  4. Coordinate with network technicians to oversee all security cameras across the district

     5. Use the Genetec system to administer door readers, cameras, badge access, security alarm panels, and user accounts
     6. Generate reports within the Genetec system
     7. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation
     8. Maintain accurate work ticket documentation and close tickets promptly
     9. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
     10. Provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
     11. Collaborate with staff to develop and implement proper procedures for documentation and support of district technologies and equipment
     12. Ensure all technology devices are functioning optimally to support the district's vision and enhance student achievement
     13. Perform scheduled maintenance on security equipment to extend its lifespan
     14. Utilize formal and informal learning opportunities to enhance skills and acquire technology certifications
