What You'll Do

As a Security Technician, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support commercial security systems for customers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and service:

• IP-based CCTV systems

• Access control systems

• Video management systems (VMS)

• Intercom systems

• Intrusion and burglar alarm systems

• Install cameras, card readers, electric strikes, mag locks, REX devices, door controllers, power supplies, and related security components

• Install and configure access control and video management servers, UPS systems, and network-connected security devices

• Perform system testing, commissioning, and basic programming

• Add users, cardholders, cameras, readers, and door controllers to security platforms

• Troubleshoot and repair system and component-level issues

• Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer standards and service agreements

• Conduct site inspections, testing, and customer demonstrations

• Complete daily project documentation, safety reports, and job-site reporting requirements

• Coordinate project activities with project managers, programmers, and fellow technicians

• Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams throughout project execution

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial low-voltage security installation and service experience

• Experience with:

• Access Control Systems

• CCTV/Video Surveillance Systems

• Intrusion Detection and Burglar Alarm Systems

• Understanding of basic networking principles and IP-based security devices

• Ability to troubleshoot access control and video management systems from both hardware and software perspectives

• Experience using testing equipment and multimeters

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively

• High School Diploma or GED

• Ability to pass background and security screenings

• Ability to comply with company and customer safety requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Texas DPS Security Installer License or ability to obtain one

• Trade School certification or Associate Degree in Electronics or related field

• Manufacturer certifications in Access Control, CCTV, or Intrusion Systems

• Experience with:

• Genetec

• Axis Communications

• HID

• Bosch Intrusion

• Sony Video Systems

• OSHA 30 Certification

• Experience commissioning and troubleshooting integrated security systems

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access equipment above ceilings
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the day
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment

This position requires work at customer facilities, construction sites, commercial buildings, and industrial environments. Technicians may be exposed to elevated work areas, moving equipment, dust, humidity, noise, and changing weather conditions. Required PPE must be worn at all times as applicable.
