Description

A professional organization is seeking a Physical Security Design Engineer for a remote role This position focuses on creating detailed physical security drawings and documentation for internal security projects, with occasional onsite visits as needed.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday

  • Hours: Standard business

  • Setting: Remote (EST or CST)

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain security system drawings using AutoCAD and Revit

  • Develop detailed layouts for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related physical security systems

  • Interpret design notes, redlines, and project requirements to produce accurate technical documentation

  • Coordinate with engineers, project leaders, and field teams to support design accuracy and completeness

  • Perform quality checks on drawings and update documentation based on site changes and project revisions

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in CAD drafting, security systems design, or low-voltage system design

  • Experience with physical security systems, including access control and CCTV

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Working knowledge of Revit

  • Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings and specifications

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with data center security design

  • Familiarity with intrusion alarms or fire-related systems

  • Exposure to enterprise, healthcare, university, or smaller-shop environments

  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes such as NFPA, NEC, or UL 294

  • Experience with access control platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Software House, or Honeywell

  • Familiarity with generative AI tools for drafting or workflow support
