PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide instruction and coach students to develop the skill and ability to excel in the sport assigned. Responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each student.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree and Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
- All Physical Education Certified teachers or individuals eligible for Physical Education certification through an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) can apply here.
- Eligible ACP candidates must meet certification requirements.
- Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
