The Randolph High School Physical Education & Health/Wellness teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
- Maintain classroom management
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement
- Plan and deliver effective instruction
- Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Physical Education & Health Wellness Teachers, including:
- creating varied and engaging tasks, projects, and presentations that students in high school can successfully accomplish;
- developing age-appropriate, standards-based lesson and unit plans for a range of ages, grades and student abilities;
- developing in each pupil an understanding of the relationship of good body function and exercise;
- motivating each pupil to cultivate physical fitness, health and wellness, hygienic habits, and good social and emotional adjustment;
- discovering and developing talents of students in physical achievement;
- developing strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual, and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each pupil's ability.
