Position Overview Primary Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Curriculum and Instruction

• Assists teachers with curriculum planning, supervision, and teaching of scholars in a classroom setting; assists in presenting and reinforcing learning concepts.
• Provides support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Assists the teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
• Assists the teacher in preparing lesson outlines, plans, and curricula in assigned areas.
• Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids for use in classroom
• Presents subject matter to scholars under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of teaching methods
• Leads classroom activities; may confer with parents on scholar's progress in the absence of the teacher.
• Assists scholars, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.

Employment Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
• Minimum of Two Years of College Credits (highly preferred)

Experience Two years of teaching experience (preferred)

Experience working in an educationally and/or economically disadvantaged community (highly preferred)Under supervision of the site principal and with direction from the school nurse, perform a variety of student-health-services- related record keeping; assist with health related testing and screening; provide oral and minimal written English/Spanish translation; connect families with community health services and supports, and to perform related work as required. Positions in this class work in a school performing administrative support work of moderate difficulty. Have a moderate level of public contact in person or on the telephone.
