Description
Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Somerville, MA. This is a 5+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!

Specific Duties:
Collects blood specimens through venipuncture,fingersticks,andheelsticksforlaboratorytesting.
Collectsnon-bloodspecimens,includingurine,sputum,andthroatswabs.
Verifiespatientidentityandlaboratoryrequisitionsbeforespecimencollection.
Preparespatientsforprocedures,explainscollectiontechniques,andensurespatientcomfort.
Labels,dates,times,anddocumentsallcollectedspecimensaccurately.
Processes,handles,andpreparesspecimensforlaboratorytesting.
Performslaboratorytests,qualitycontrol,equipmentcalibration,andtroubleshooting.
Maintainsproperinfectioncontrolpractices,includinghandwashingandPPEuse.
Followssafetyprotocolsforhandlingbiohazardousmaterialsanddisposingofsharps.
Maintainsaclean,organizedlaboratoryareaandensuresadequatesupplies.
Communicateswithlaboratorystaffandmedicalpersonnelregardingspecimen-relatedissues.
Performsclericalduties,maintainscollectionrecords,andassistswithlaboratoryoperations.
Highschooldiplomaorequivalent(GED,HiSET,TASC)fromanaccreditedinstitution.
Completionofanaccreditedphlebotomytechnicaltrainingprogram.
PhlebotomyTechnician(PBT)certificationandCPR/BLScertification(AmericanHeartAssociationpreferred).
KnowledgeofmedicalterminologyandproficiencyinLaboratoryInformationSystems(LIS)andElectronicMedicalRecords(EMR).
Strongverbalandwrittencommunication,interpersonal,andpatientserviceskills.

Job Type: 5+ months contract
Schedule: Shift start & end times: 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Sunday - Thursday
Pay Range: $20-$23/hr. on W2
