Phlebotomist

We are seeking a highly organized, efficient, and multi-functional phlebotomist with excellent communication skills.The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, is required. The candidate must possess skills in following policies and procedures, commitment to tasks and attention to detail, decision-making and problem-solving. Aphlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood specimens and interacting with the patients and clients. Must have excellent phlebotomy and customer service skills and be able to work independently in order to provide excellent care. ​​ Specific Job Duties: -Primarily responsible for the collection of bloodspecimens for the clinical laboratory. - Computer test order entry in our outpatientsettings, specimen collection data entryandassistingcaregivers with patient reports. - Preparing a laboratory for inspection byregulatory agencies. - Monitoring, maintaining, ordering and stockinglaboratory supplies. - Providing customer service to answer questionsfrom patientproviders regarding patientresultsor samplecollection techniques or questions. Laboratory Training/Continuing Education: All employees are required to attend hospital orientation on the initial start date and then will proceed to the laboratoryto undergo an extensive training programwhich covers all areas of the phlebotomy position. We provide a one-on-one approach to this process, which typically is completed within the first1 to 2months of hire. Annual continuing education is provided by WillisKnighton in an effort to maintaincompetency in phlebotomy skills, safety and general laboratory areas. This alsoprovides employeeswith CEUs to maintain certification requirements. Job Qualifications: -Highschool diploma or equivalent -Completion of a phlebotomy-training program orequivalent experience. - National Phlebotomy Certification is required. -Computer experience and some knowledge ofmedical terminology is preferred. Jos Specific Information: 6PM-6:30AM 7on/off shift, rotation in the on-call phlebotomy schedule.
