Position Details

  • Position: Phlebotomist Clinical Laboratory
  • Location: Portland, OR
  • Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour

  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Hours: 7:00 AM 5:30 PM or Night Shift - 10hr shift 7 on 7 off Wednesday to Tuesday

Qualifications Required-

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or CPT II)
  • BLS is Required
  • Min 2 years of Phlebotomist
  • EPIC is required

Job Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and finger-stick blood collection on patients according to established procedures.

  • Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are accurately labeled before processing.
  • Confirm correct specimen type, collection volume, and testing requirements.
  • Process, accession, and distribute specimens to appropriate laboratory departments.
  • Prepare samples and required documentation for in-house and reference laboratory testing.
  • Explain blood collection procedures to patients and provide professional, compassionate support.
  • Follow established procedures for difficult draws, missed collections, and required recollections.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and comply with laboratory infection prevention and safety protocols.
  • Communicate with physicians, clinical teams, and other departments regarding specimen and laboratory needs.
  • Monitor laboratory equipment and report maintenance or performance concerns appropriately.
  • Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, expiration-date monitoring, and stock rotation.
  • Perform quality control activities and required proficiency testing according to laboratory standards.
  • Participate in laboratory quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and follow all regulatory and organizational requirements.
