Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization for patients visiting for routine health testing or diagnostic insights. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident during the collection process. The PSR I demonstrates process excellence, attention to patient confidentiality, and accuracy in specimen handling while maintaining a safe and professional clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Explain procedures and perform blood collection in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  • Maintain required records and documentation for specimen collection and patient information.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Experience working in fast-paced healthcare or laboratory environments.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments.
  • Experience supporting diagnostic laboratories or patient service centers.
Required Skills:
  • Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.
  • Ability to deliver accurate, error-free work in fast-paced environments.
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Preferred Skills:
  • Pediatric and geriatric blood draw experience.
  • Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime if required.
