Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients visiting for routine health testing or important diagnostic insights. This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining patient trust through professional communication and safe collection practices. The PSR II focuses on process excellence, patient confidentiality, and accurate specimen handling while ensuring a safe and professional clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
  • Draw blood specimens and prepare samples for laboratory testing following established procedures.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper specimen labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation related to specimen collection and patient information.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Support specimen collection activities in patient service centers, physician offices, or other assigned locations as business needs dictate.
Required Experience:
  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience working in fast-paced patient service environments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Two years of experience working in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service settings.
  • Experience supporting multiple clinical collection sites.
Required Skills:
  • Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.
  • Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a high-volume environment.
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Preferred Skills:
  • Pediatric and geriatric blood draw experience.
  • Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in busy healthcare settings.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
