Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients visiting for routine health testing or important diagnostic services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident throughout the collection process. The PSR I maintains strong attention to patient confidentiality, specimen accuracy, and process excellence while supporting safe and efficient clinical operations.

This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident throughout the collection process. The PSR I maintains strong attention to patient confidentiality, specimen accuracy, and process excellence while supporting safe and efficient clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Explain procedures and perform blood collection in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
- Maintain required records and documentation related to specimen collection and patient information.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Experience working in fast-paced clinical or laboratory environments.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments.
- Experience supporting diagnostic laboratories or patient service centers.
Required Skills:
- Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.
- Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in fast-paced environments.
- Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- Pediatric and geriatric blood draw experience.
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
Additional Skills:
- Clinical and forensic specimen collection procedures.
- Patient confidentiality and information accuracy practices.
- Organizational documentation and record maintenance.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and patient trust during specimen collection.
