    Work Schedule: Evenings with Weekend and Holiday Rotation

    Hours: 6p-10p

    Summary:

    Primarily responsible for specimen collection procedures, including but not limited to, venipuncture and capillary draws for patients in the nursing home and home phlebotomy areas.

    Responsibilities:

    EDUCATION

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Successful completion of a Clinical Phlebotomy rotation and/or six (6) months experience in phlebotomy which includes micro-collection and butterfly collection on both geriatric and neonate/pediatric patients preferred
    • Proof of certification required if experience is less than six (6) months
    • Possess valid NYS Driver's license and have use of vehicle

    EXPERIENCE

    • Six (6) months experience in phlebotomy which includes micro-collection and butterfly collection on both geriatric and neonate/pediatric patients

    • Ability to obtain information and interpret this information in terms of the patient's needs

    • Able to work safely with infectious and/or hazardous materials

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    ENVIRONMENT

    • Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
    • Schedule flexibility
    • Phlebotomy supply transport as needed
    • Participation in on-call scheduling per established rotation, and mandate if required
