Position Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company and is responsible for providing safe, accurate, and professional patient service. The role involves blood collection, specimen processing, patient identification, documentation, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
As a Float Phlebotomist, the employee will travel between multiple Patient Service Centers and physician-office locations based on staffing needs and must be able to report to assigned locations on time with minimal notice.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection accurately and safely.
Perform Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Process and prepare specimens according to established procedures.
Perform patient identification and verify demographic information.
Confirm patient signatures and verify specimen labels in the patient's presence.
Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing as applicable.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Provide excellent customer service and create a comfortable, trustworthy experience for patients.
Protect patient confidentiality and maintain accuracy of patient information.
Work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Travel between multiple assigned locations as needed.
Submit mileage for eligible travel between work locations.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
Pediatric collections
Geriatric collections
Capillary collections
Strong phlebotomy skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Keyboard and data-entry experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Reliable transportation.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Flexibility to work at multiple locations based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
Phlebotomy certification.
Customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment.
