    Job Title: Phlebotomist I
    Location: Pembroke Pines, FL
    Duration: 5+ Months (Potential for Extension)
    Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM; Rotational Saturdays, 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Pembroke Pines, FL. The Phlebotomist I serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collect blood specimens from patients using established phlebotomy procedures and best practices.
    • Prepare, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
    • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
    • Ensure all patient information, specimen records, and documentation are maintained accurately and confidentially.
    • Explain collection procedures to patients and create a positive, professional, and reassuring experience.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
    • Follow company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Complete daily assigned tasks accurately and within established timeframes.
    • Demonstrate professionalism and promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and coworkers.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
    • Support operational needs, including flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime as required.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
    • Strong specimen collection, handling, and processing skills.
    • Experience with keyboarding and data entry.
    • Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or other formal medical training preferred.
    • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
    • One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
    • Experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patients.
    • Customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service-oriented environment preferred.
