    Job Title: Phlebotomist I
    Job Type: 3-Month Contract
    Location: Gardendale, AL 35071
    Shift: Rotating shifts, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
     
    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Gardendale, AL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering excellent patient care. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures.
    • Collect and process both clinical and forensic specimens accurately.
    • Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and maintain required records.
    • Provide exceptional customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
    • Explain collection procedures and help patients feel comfortable throughout the process.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
    • Follow company policies, quality standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity goals.
     
    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
    • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required).
    • Experience performing pediatric and geriatric blood draws.
    • Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed.
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience.
    • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
    • Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
    • Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
