Job Description:
PHLEBOTOMIST III – FLOAT
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Follow established phlebotomy practices, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Provide a professional, trustworthy, and comfortable patient experience.
- Explain procedures and perform blood collection safely and accurately.
- Provide phlebotomy coverage across multiple locations and roles based on business needs.
- Support Patient Service Centers, Mobile, Long-Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy.
- Ensure daily activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors with focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and patient information accuracy.
- Work in various settings, including:
- Doctor’s offices
- Patient Service Centers
- House-call environments
- Long-term care facilities
- Step in as a lead for Phlebotomist III – Float and direct one or more PSRs on site.
- Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees.
- Provide effective onboarding support for new clients and employees.
- Serve as a point of contact for on-site staff and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
- Handle high-complexity and/or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy skills.

Required Education
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
3. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
1. Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
2. Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
3. Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
4. Keyboard/data entry experience.
