Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III - Float serves as a key patient-facing professional responsible for high-quality blood collection and specimen handling across multiple locations. This role requires advanced phlebotomy expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex, high-volume environments while ensuring excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing
Maintain a safe and professional environment across multiple sites
Provide coverage across Patient Service Centers, mobile, long-term care, and in-office settings
Ensure all daily activities are completed accurately and on time
Verify patient information and ensure proper specimen labeling
Act as a lead, coach, and mentor for staff and new employees
Serve as point of contact for onsite staff and provide feedback to supervisors
Support onboarding and training of new employees and clients
Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, IT, Billing, and Logistics
Handle high-complexity and high-volume patient interactions
Manage multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced environments
Required Experience:
5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Ability to work independently and lead teams
Strong customer service experience
Experience in high-volume clinical environments
Keyboard and data entry skills
