What You'll Do

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting specimens and completing laboratory procedures within established guidelines following laboratory techniques.

  • Collects blood and urine specimens using knowledge of laboratory techniques
  • Ensures correct patient identification and appropriate labeling of specimens
  • Performs EKG tests
  • Performs nasal swabs for COVID and influenza
  • Performs quality controls on new and stock supplies per manufacturer
  • Possesses outstanding professional and positive customer service skills, able to put patient at ease and appropriately explain procedures
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
  • Knowledgeable of and perform safe infection control practices including good hand hygiene, standard precautions, cleaning equipment and the environment
  • Must have excellent problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Experience with healthcare computer information systems
  • Solid knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and multifunctional, work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrates forward thinking approach, continually looking for ways to improve processes, tools and resources to best serve the healthcare team and clients
  • Ability to manage challenging situations in providing services to patients and families

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year phlebotomy experience and/or graduation from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program required

Compensation Range: $18-$26
