Job Description Summary:

The Philanthropy Advisor is responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies across the Central Ohio market, with primary focus on Dublin Methodist Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, and other OhioHealth hospitals and care sites. This frontline fundraising role manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, builds strategic relationships, and advances philanthropic priorities aligned with organizational growth and patient care excellence

SCOPE OF POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Advisor, this position partners closely with Foundation colleagues, hospital executives, physicians, board members, and volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic support. The role is accountable for achieving annual fundraising goals while expanding donor engagement and pipeline development across assigned markets

Organizational impact of position (fiscal and/or service): Fundraising dollars, annual goal, approximately $1 million with expectations to maximize fundraising opportunities and build authentic relationships with internal and external partners as tenure and experience grows.

Responsibilities And Duties:

70%:

Fundraising- Manages a portfolio of major gift prospects for the respective area. Implements effective process to move prospects through cycle of philanthropy. Coordinates and collaborates with system-wide philanthropy team to assist in implementation of fundraising programs, including: Annual fundraising; Corporate and foundation fundraising; Grateful patient programs; Planned giving; and events. Manages capital campaigns and/or collaborates on related system wide Foundation campaigns.

10%:

Care Site Strategy - Develops a fundraising strategy and plan for assigned area that supports the Foundation's overall fundraising strategy and objectives. Provides input and support to system-wide fundraising strategy and planning.

10%:

External Relationship Management - Develops relationships with the philanthropic and business communities associated with the area of service. Manages and cultivates relationships to achieve the full fundraising potential of the community. Supports the Foundation and system leadership in relationship building. Participates in community events to represent the organization and to build relationships.

Leadership - Coordinates and collaborates with Foundation and other system- wide teams e.g., marketing, finance to develop and implement fundraising programs and practices. Recruits, trains, and manages volunteer teams. Leads others to solve complex problems. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional team or projects.

Additional Job Description:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience using donor CRM platforms such as Raiser's Edge or similar systems
  • Knowledge of major gifts, annual giving, campaigns, planned giving, and stewardship strategies
  • Experience in healthcare, higher education, or other complex mission-driven organizations preferred
  • Ability to engage physicians, executives, and volunteers in fundraising efforts
