Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:00 AM
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend, 10:30 AM–7:30 PM
Licensure: Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License Required
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Floor Technician to support daily pharmacy operations. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Floor Technician will be responsible for accurately picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing prescription orders for final pharmacist verification.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, and a commitment to medication accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately fill daily medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Pick and pull medications from shelving, prepack racks, and designated medication storage areas.
- Label, scan, and prepare completed prescriptions for final pharmacist verification.
- Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure accuracy.
- Alert the pharmacist of medications or products that do not scan properly.
- Assist with processing returned medications and recycling or disposing of products according to established procedures.
- Prepack frequently ordered medications, including labeling and properly storing products during lower-volume periods.
- Manually package medications, materials, and pharmacy products.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked workstations.
- Replenish supplies and inventory as needed.
- Follow all applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
- Follow departmental policies related to safety, attendance, dress code, and pharmacy procedures.
- Work overtime, holidays, and additional weekends as required or expected.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active and clear Florida Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work at a moderate and consistent pace while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established pharmacy procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy technician experience.
- Experience with prescription filling, medication packaging, labeling, or scanning.
- Experience working in a retail, hospital, long-term care, specialty, or fulfillment pharmacy environment.
