Pharmacy Technician - Purchasing

Under general direction of the purchasing supervisor, takes responsibility for supporting the pharmacy in its goal of maintaining satisfactory inventory levels. 1+year of experience in a LTC Pharmacy setting and high volume pharmacy is preferred but not required.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the purchasing supervisor, takes responsibility for supporting the pharmacy in its goal of maintaining satisfactory inventory levels.
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory level based on utilization report and purchase history.
• Minimize Fill on Arrivals (FOA) orders.
• Restocking inventory.
• Manage expired, recalled and returned medications.
• Monitor and maintain drug files in computer system.
• Responsible for communicating any changes and all issues to department supervisor.
• Support and work closely with the department supervisor.
• Participate with corporate scheduled physical inventories.
• Other duties as assigned; job duties may vary by location.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

•  Licensed Pharmacy Technician a must. 
• 1+year of experience in a LTC Pharmacy setting and high volume pharmacy is preferred but not required.
   

SCHEDULE:

• Variable according to business needs. 
• Shift differentials apply to qualified shifts.
