Description
A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization! This Pharmacy Tech I will be working for a respected healthcare organization and has career growth potential. See additional details below.
Pharmacy Technician Highlights
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST (8.5-hour day includes 2 breaks + 30-min lunch)
Position: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Type: Temporary, 40 hours/week
Start / Training: Class start 10/12/2026 (training runs 10/12/26–12/01/26, M–F 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST)
Training holiday: No training on 11/26/2026
Call volume: ~60–100 inbound calls/day (about 8/hour, fluctuates)
Responsibilities
Handle high-volume inbound calls from members, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
Guide callers through the criteria-based prior authorization process with professional, courteous service.
Review clinical documentation for completeness and eligibility based on established criteria.
Accurately document approvals/denials and case activity in a timely manner.
Escalate clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist.
Maintain compliance with internal protocols and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
1+ year experience as a Pharmacy Technician (support/admin or call-center aligned experience preferred).
1+ year experience in a high-volume customer service/call center environment (healthcare preferred).
Strong computer skills (ability to navigate multiple systems; word processing/spreadsheets).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education: Verifiable High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred (not required):
Pharmacy Technician certification and/or state license/registration (preferred, not mandatory).
Remote Work Requirements
Hardwired internet connection (Wi‑Fi only is not acceptable).
Ability to provide an internet speed test as part of submission.
Private, quiet workspace.
Smartphone required for use of the PING application.
Benefits Available
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.
