Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor
Location: Pima Medical Institute - Denver Campus | On-Site
Position Type: Part-Time (25 Hours/Week) | Morning Shift
Compensation: $28.19 – $35.23 per hour
Reports To: Assistant Dean of Faculty
Pima Medical Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor to guide the next generation of healthcare professionals at our Denver campus. In this role, you will combine hands-on classroom teaching with program leadership and mentorship — making a meaningful difference in students' careers while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that appeal to diverse learning styles and meet all clinical and curriculum objectives.
- Oversee curriculum implementation, lab standards, and instructional quality.
- Facilitate Advisory Board Meetings and lead programmatic faculty meetings to ensure high standards for student outcomes.
- Review textbooks and course materials; assist with the orientation and mentoring of new faculty members.
- Coordinate externship site visits and support student placement in collaboration with Career Services.
- Track graduate certification pass rates and participate in annual Program Effectiveness Plans.
- Manage supply inventory and contribute to accreditation documentation and preparation.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on student coursework within 72 hours.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and success rates; maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
- Maintain accurate student grades and records per established policies.
- Enforce safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree from an institution accredited by the USDE or CHEA.
- Graduate of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent accredited specialty program.
- Minimum 5 years of professional pharmacy experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.
- Current national Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or Pharmacist license in good standing as required by Colorado state law.
- Current membership in at least one national and one state pharmacy organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Minimum 3 years of prior teaching experience in pharmacy or allied health preferred.
