Position Summary

Guided by our values of Community, Learning, and Integrity, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Pharmacy Technician Instructor to support students enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician Program. In this role, you will provide engaging technical instruction in both hands-on and classroom settings, helping students develop the competencies, skills, and confidence required to succeed in the pharmacy industry. Leveraging your industry experience and technical expertise, you will create an environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and student achievement.

Working closely with the Program Coordinator and fellow faculty members, you will maintain student competency and training records, verify skill completion, and support key student success outcomes, including program completion, employment placement, and licensure attainment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to share your knowledge, inspire lifelong learning, and contribute to the success of students as they prepare for rewarding careers in healthcare.

The Pharmacy Technician Instructor works under the direction of the Pharmacy Technician Coordinator.

Essential Functions

  1. Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; maintain student records and verification of competencies.

  2. Assist the Program Coordinator by teaching curriculum using appropriate instructional methodologies to increase student success.

  3. Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure.

  4. Advise students in the areas of program and college expectations, appropriate work behavior, and dress standards. Assist administration and staff as necessary to

resolve issues affecting student success.

  1. Assist the program coordinator in maintaining contact with local employers.

  2. Assist the program coordinator with maintaining program assets.

  3. Complete assignments within established timelines.

  4. Attend programmatic team meetings.

  5. Work cooperatively with the college community and with all college stakeholders. Represent the college community in a professional manner.

  6. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 5-years, working as a Pharmacy Technician

  2. Hold an active PTCB Certification

  3. Hold an active DOPL Pharmacy Technician License

  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  1. Preference will be given to those individuals that have teaching and curriculum development experience.

  2. Preference will be given to those who have completed an ASHP accredited program.

  3. Preference will be given to those individuals that have experience with Pioneer Rx and/or McKesson Enterprise.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc.

Special physical demands are not required to perform the work

  1. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire

regulations, etc.

Additional Information

WORKING HOURS:

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. not to exceed 29 hours per week
