Five certified pharmacy technicians for a 24/7 military hospital pharmacy in Anchorage, with outpatient and inpatient rotations.
Anchorage puts a real city of nearly 300,000 people between the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet. You get a downtown with restaurants, breweries and a performing arts center, plus 300 miles of paved and groomed trails that run right through town. Moose in the neighborhood are routine. Alpine skiing at Alyeska is under an hour away, and salmon fishing, glaciers and Denali-country weekends are a drive away. Summers bring nearly 20 hours of daylight. Alaska has no state income tax and no statewide sales tax, which stretches every paycheck further.
The 673d Medical Group at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is a 65-bed military and VA joint-venture hospital and the primary referral center for Alaska, serving about 159,000 beneficiaries. It runs primary and specialty care, an emergency department, an ICU, a behavioral health unit, labor and delivery, and 24/7 inpatient care across 17 medical and surgical specialties. Pharmacy services operate from the main hospital pharmacy and a satellite pharmacy on the MHS GENESIS electronic health record.
